Threesome & t-shirt contests almost coming to an end

Yeah, today is 30th March, which means threesome contest and t-shirt contest are almost over for this round. 1 more day to go, before the winner is to be announced.

Just a heads up for those who has reached blogjer.com for the first time, these 2 contests are slightly different even though the winner is chosen from the top commentator plugin based who comments the most for a particular month. This is the scenario, the threesome contest is the collaboration between me, Azwanhadzree and zakiyamani, so if any one of us become top commentator in any or this blog, we’re not eligible to get free review. And the t-shirt contest is my own contest, so anybody can participate and win.

As you can see from my top commentator plugin, Azwan is currently leading the chart followed by MK. So if this position remained, even though Azwan is the top commentator, he won’t win a review from zakiyamani, but he still get himself a t-shirt as a to commentator. The free review will go to MK

You are free to leave comments

I would like to stress that these contests doesn’t mean to ‘force’ you to leave any comments here, but more as a method of getting more traffic and readers as well as encouraging you to participate on any posts in this blog. Each post is merely of my opinion and knowledge that I would like to share, and it is open for discussion or objection.

I know that certain comments are meaningless, or just to gain entry, but as I said earlier, I don’t mind about that. This is one of the medium for us, bloggers who have never met to communicate with each other. As long as it is not spam or promo comment, I’ll be happy to read it.

March’s t-shirt

It’s kinda hard to get interesting t-shirts with the right budget and style(simple) in Malaysia. We’re lacking of online t-shirt stores and moreover, t-shirts that are available on online marketplace such as ebay ang lelong are not interesting enough or out of my interest. Perhaps I’m a little bit choosy, but I’m actually looking for locally designed t-shirt, events t-shirt, company t-shirt, tech related t-shirt (including game), or website’s official t-shirt with the intention to support local blogs. But I found that we only have a few blogs/forums producing their own t-shirts except for a well known blogs which has many readers or followers.

Below are some of the t-shirts that I found, but it’s not necessarily the final t-shirt that I’m gonna give. The final prize is subjected to the availability and size availability.

Maybank Visa Debit Card

maybank visa debit card Maybank Visa Debit Card

Finally I can shop everywhere using my saving account, with no hassle of bringing cash, conveniently checking my spending online (almost real time), and most importantly I’m not owing any banks any money.

I had a bad credit card experience when I started using credit card after I graduated, and I was using it like crazy. Yeah, it’s true, I spent it ridiculously. The impact is, I had only able to settle off all my debt last year. Oh my, it is really wasting my hard earned money, with the interest that is skyrocketing, interest on top of other interest and countless charges and fees. I have not used any credit card since then, and eventhough my company is providing AMEX, I refuse to use it, even though it is a company registered card (which I can still use but paid by myself). I just can’t trust myself with this ‘plastic card’. That’s why I prefer using PB debit card, which I frequently top up the credit whenever I’m traveling.

Back to this card, I got it processed within 20 minutes in Bandar Kinrara Maybank. It costs me MYR12 to replace my old card, and the good thing is, it doesn’t have any annual fee. To test it, I went to a petrol station to pump in fuel and pay using this card, well, it works like a credit card, not like before where I have to key in my pin number.

It has a point system as well, called TreatPoints, but I’m not really going after points by the way. So I can say partial good bye to my PB debit card. Not total good bye, since I’m still using PB debit card for my Paypal, and I feel more secured to shop online using it since I have to top up more money to use it, instead of directly deducting from my saving account.

Good job Maybank (for this particular service only) !!

Recap:

  • Fee = One time fee RM12 for new, replacement card, stolen and etc. No annual fee
  • No minimum balance
  • Provide point base on the amount spent, called TreatPoints
  • Transaction available on maybank2u.com

Do not attempt to put hidden link in your post, it will appear on RSS reader

I found something that is rather interesting but quite surprising today. I was browsing 1 local blog, it looks interesting, so as usual I subscribed to their contents on my feed reader. However it is not full feed, it’s ok, as long as it is interesting, I’ll keep this feed before unsubscribe it after awhile.

So, I start reading its old posts. But there was something that had really caught my eye. On one of the posts, I found a lot of links below that we often found on the spam comment.

hidden-link-appear-in-reader

The code if you’re interested to have it on your blog.

<u style="display:none"><a href="http://www.bathradar.co.uk/wp-content/1/juegos-seguros-linea.html">juegos seguros

What the heck?? I clicked ‘more‘ links to read the full story on the blog. At a glance, there is nothing there. I’m curious, so I viewed the page code, and there you got the secret. It is using the code below

style=”display:none”

I can’t tell if it is done on purpose or someone has hacked that particular post, but from the meta name, it is using the latest Wordpress 2.3.3.

But whatever the intention is, the hidden link will appear on the RSS reader. So be careful if you’re trying to do black hat SEO dude!! (if you intend to do so). I’m not gonna reveal which blog it is, but I hope the author is aware of what is going on and do whatever needed to avoid Google slap (or bloggers slap). Hint, the author is not active on blogjer, so don’t worry about that.

I think I should check my post as well from now on.

p/s: Off topic, Raymond is very generous to share something interesting about his experience which had changed his life forever. Read more at Linn Comel

If you guys have anything to shout out, do mail or contact me. I’ll try my best to include it at the end of my post (no racist, quick rich scheme etc)

UPDATE : Remove to spam URL, too long

luqman’s shaving ceremony

It has been more than a week of silence. And yea, we have been very busy. My husband with his work, plus his outstation for a couple of days, and me with time spent mostly on our dear Luqman (in which I have to find a way to manage it). As for now, I let him lie down on his rocker, rather than have him sit on my lap and rocking him to sleep when he doesn’t feel like to do so :) I guess.

We just got back yesterday. Last weekend, we were having “bercukur” (shaving off) ceremony for Luqman at my husband’s hometown. It’s just a small gathering with our relatives. There was a thought earlier on, to combine this ceremony with aqeeqah, but we ran out of budget. It is not compulsory to do it so soon though, InsyaAllah we’ll do it later.

Here’s some pics of Luqman :) before and after shaving.

Twitter guide for beginer

I have my Twitter account registered a few months back, but it’s only now that I started using it quite frequent. At that time, I’m not a big fan of any socializing tool, but 2008 has changed me a lot. With Web 2.0 wave growing stronger, I couldn’t afford to just let them slip through my finger anymore.

Ok, my interest on Twitter is back after reading Lorella’s post (one of my favourite bloggers) about Twitter. And my interest keeps getting stronger when I read an article about Twitter, which was the hot thing last year at SXSW, and again becomes another hot thing  this year. There must me something very special about it!! Ahh, but poor me, early comer but late user of Twitter.

Why is Twitter HAWT? There are a lot of reasons I believe. But in my humble opinion, there is no better answer rather than the ability to post, distribute and share the short message with mass audience in real time basis. Yeah, darn fast!!

Twitter for Wordpress

There are bunches of Twitter related tools out there, (wtips has a long list of twitter tools for various usage), but I’d rather get used to it step by step starting with my blog. I choose Alex King plugin which appears on top of the Google SERP for keyword ‘twitter plugin’. As you can see, I put my twitter on top of my left sidebar for a better view.

My twitter indexed by Google

Apparently, Google has indexed my Twitter update that I had put on my left sidebar with the link pointed to homepage. Is this considered duplicate??

How to update twitter

There are many ways to update Twitter. You can for sure update it from its homepage, Twitter.com. I suppose I can update my Twitter from WP-admin menu, but it seems not working. So I leave that first until I have time to figure out what’s wrong with the setting.

Alternatively I use Google Talk. Just add twitter@twitter.com to your contact list, and shoot off an IM to it, which subsequently updates my twitter. But the new post won’t shows up on Blogjer.com’s left sidebar automatically,  I have to login into my WP-Admin to update it manually. This is 1 area that this plugin is lacking with (perhaps Alex has his own reason not to have this feature for the sake of performance). In my opinion, if it has this feature, this is simply the best Twitter plugin for Wordpress

Twitter and Google talk banned in my office

Unfortunately Gmail, Google Talk and Twitter is inaccessible (filtered by firewall) in my office environment. So I couldn’t update and view Twitter frequently (the Wordpress plugin unable to do so as well).

Update Twitter by email

This is how TwitterMail.com come in handly. With simple registration, you’ll get 1 unique email address. Send an e-mail to your TwitterMail address which will update your Twitter. The body of the message will be published in your Twitter Profile. Leave the subject-line empty for the normal message. TwitterMail is more than updating Twitter. Read the their cool features.

Twitter on mobile

I’ve tested few application before settled down with Cellity and Abiro Jitter, though Cellity has slight edge with more functionality. For a note, I’m using Sony Ericsson PE990i and WIFI as a method of connecting to Internet, please check your phone compatibility before installation. From the test from my mobile phone, my Twitter updated almost immediately. If I could get hold of my friend’s blackberry for testing, I hope I can provide more info what is the best Twitter client on Blackberry later

Twitter on Firefox.

It wasn’t complete guide without talking what you can do with Twitter from Firefox. I manage to test 2 add-on only which I feel best suit to beginner like me. I use Twitterbar to update Twitter from Firefox address bar. Spatielview has detail along with the screen shot how to install and use this Firefox addon.

And to view my Twitter on Firefox browser, I install Tweetbar which can be viewed an Firefox sidebar. Unfortunately, this 2 plugin doesn’t work in restricted internet environment such as my office though :~)

Follow my Twitter

As I mentioned earlier, I started using Twitter few months back, but I abandon it up until recently. I don’t even know that I have 5 folks follows my Twitter. Having said that, feel free to follow my twitter. There is nothing special following me, but you can be the first to know if there is new post from this blog and from my other blog that I’ll integrate into my Twitter account in near future.

Drop your Twitter link too in comment section, so I can sneak what you’re doing. You follow me, I follow you.
