Commenting tips
- Comment on blog that around the same level with you, or little bit better than you - Commenting on famous blog such as John Chow is good, but as I said earlier, don’t hope that he’ll leave back any comment on your blog. But if you refer step by step to find blog to be commented above, popular blog can supply traffic to your blog.
- Be among the top commentator on that blog - Not necessarily to be top commentator, being top 5 or top 10 is giving you enough exposure to other readers
- Be friend with them - Other than commenting, you can be friend in away such as chatting, notify them if something happen to their blog, join contest that they held or support them if any commentator leave harsh comment
- Avoid conflicting with the author - This is important especially when you just start commenting, even if you’re not agree with them, arrange your word carefully and try to not offending the blog’s author. However, when the relationship grow, you can be more vocal as long as within the limit
- Concentrate on local blog - Not necessarily true, but before going international, cement your footstep on local scene first
- Visit your commentator’s blog and leave a comment . As your blog grows, more and more comment will be received. To show your appreciation, go to their blog and leave a comment. Follow
step by step to find a blog to be commented . Btw, if you notice, it works like barter system, they provide you with comments, in returns you comment back their post - Leave controversial comment on controversial blog. If the post is controversial, why not leave controversial comment?
- Leave a comment that relevant to the post
- Avoid comment on something you’re not familiar with . It’ll make you looks fool unless you’re asking question
- Replying comment on top of other comments - By doing this, you have indirectly build relationship with other blogger and at the same time, if the comment is question, you can help blog’s author answer it, as long as you’re not over the limit such as looks arrogant or intent to show off
- Your comment does not need to be very long, but shows that you’re doing it sincerely and trying to be friends with the blogs’author
- On your own blog, don’t forget to reply comment from others. Try build conversation with them, and it will attract others who read the post and comment to join the conversation
The more you comments you made, the more traffic you’ll receive. This is so true in my opinion based on my experience for the past 2 month. So how to maximize the impact from your commenting strategy? Wait for my next post

Heyho! Another must read from Blogjer.
1 Point about the controversial post. Are you suggesting us to provoke the author with a controversial comment? Really contradicts with your earlier points. Let me know ok.
Controversial comment is for controversial post only. But controversy comment does not necessarily provoking the author, taking an example at controversial political articles, your comment can be something that attacking the policy or rules, but not the author personally.
