luqman1 Blogjer has new author

I don’t know how to start writing today. I have a few articles currently in WIP, but my mood is temporarily not on blogging. Forgive me if this post is not interesting.

27-Jan-2008 is one of the dates that I’ll remember forever. This date is very meaningful to me and my wife, whereby this is the day where we become parents, parents to our first baby, a baby boy named Luqman Hakim, who was born with normal procedure, with weight of 3.2 kg and height of 49 cm. We’re very happy and so does our parents, since Luqman Hakim is their first ever grandchild too.

The time from the beginning of being admitted, to labor room, and until Luqman is born was very stressful but it ended with tears of happiness. We both cried upon seeing Luqman crying (or scream) loudly by the time he was successfully delivered. I got the chance to watch it with my own eyes from the first moment Luqman came out to this world, and I’m grateful to Allah, Alhamdulillah everything is over and went fine. My wife smiled, the pain and tiredness seemed to be gone upon seeing Luqman breathing and in healthy condition.

The 4 hour period in the labor room is also the moment that I’ll remember the most. This is the moment where my wife struggled to deliver our baby.  I can see that it was very painful. Even epidural procedure gave little  impact to minimize the pain. Witnessing this, I know that I should love and take care my wife more than ever. I admire her patience and strong will.

The excitement of having Luqman Hakim is felt by most of our close relatives. With technology, his photo has reached all over Malaysia via email and MMS. His ‘Mak Uda’ who’s studying abroad, already has his photo decorating her YM and MSN avatar. Not to forget MySpace and Friendster. What a technology, hehe. Looks like their parents are a little bit behind in getting his photo available on Blogjer.com. Yeah, we’re too excited playing with him, feeding and pampering him. And also getting his birth registered as well as a few other things that are needed to be completed.

Blogjer will grow to a higher level in future, so does Luqman Hakim, but of course with better care, love and Iman (faith).

Practical guide for commenting : Commenting tips

So, here comes the second part of our “Practical guide for commenting”. A bit recap from our first part, and it is basically on how to build a relationship with fellow bloggers, have they comment on your blog, and thus get traffic for your blog. Commentating tips below are guidelines to make other fellow bloggers think that your blog is a blog worth to visit.

Commenting tips

  1. Comment on blog that around the same level with you, or little bit better than you - Commenting on famous blog such as John Chow is good, but as I said earlier, don’t hope that he’ll leave back any comment on your blog. But if you refer step by step to find blog to be commented above, popular blog can supply traffic to your blog.
  2. Be among the top commentator on that blog - Not necessarily to be top commentator, being top 5 or top 10 is giving you enough exposure to other readers
  3. Be friend with them - Other than commenting, you can be friend in away such as chatting, notify them if something happen to their blog, join contest that they held or support them if any commentator leave harsh comment
  4. Avoid conflicting with the author - This is important especially when you just start commenting, even if you’re not agree with them, arrange your word carefully and try to not offending the blog’s author. However, when the relationship grow, you can be more vocal as long as within the limit
  5. Concentrate on local blog - Not necessarily true, but before going international, cement your footstep on local scene first
  6. Visit your commentator’s blog and leave a comment . As your blog grows, more and more comment will be received. To show your appreciation, go to their blog and leave a comment. Follow
step by step to find a blog to be commented . Btw, if you notice, it works like barter system, they provide you with comments, in returns you comment back their post
  7. Leave controversial comment on controversial blog. If the post is controversial, why not leave controversial comment?
  8. Leave a comment that relevant to the post
  9. Avoid comment on something you’re not familiar with . It’ll make you looks fool unless you’re asking question
  10. Replying comment on top of other comments - By doing this, you have indirectly build relationship with other blogger and at the same time, if the comment is question, you can help blog’s author answer it, as long as you’re not over the limit such as looks arrogant or intent to show off
  11. Your comment does not need to be very long, but shows that you’re doing it sincerely and trying to be friends with the blogs’author
  12. On your own blog, don’t forget to reply comment from others. Try build conversation with them, and it will attract others who read the post and comment to join the conversation

The more you comments you made, the more traffic you’ll receive. This is so true in my opinion based on my experience for the past 2 month. So how to maximize the impact from your commenting strategy? Wait for my next post

Lunch at Al-Marjan

This lunch is sponsored by my wife’s friend who won 100K on 1 contest which was written by Mai earlier. Thanks Eny and husband!!

Not much pictures that I can snap. We enjoy the food very much until we forgot to snap the main dishes that day, stem lamb. Furthermore I feel weird to snap more pictures on the lunch which is treated by my wife’s friend.

Al-Marjan serve Lebanese and Persian food only, so do not expect there will be seafood. What we notice about this food is, most of the food cooked with tomato and the taste is slightly sour but tasteful. This restaurant located in 4th flour Suria KLCC. For more info about this restaurant, direct your browser here

The pictures quality is bad. Maybe it is time to change to the new camera. Enjoy!!

Practical guide for commenting : Part 1

I’m pretty happy seeing my stat showing some of the traffic coming from my friends, fellow bloggers. Even it is not so much, but it shows that socializing by being commentators and active in forums really works for me and also for you. 2 months ago, Alexa rank of Blogjer.com stood at 388k and kept on dropping, with less comments and less visitors. What’s a blog without comments
isn’t? At that time, I don’t see blog as a serious source of income for me, and
to make things worse, I only post occasionally.  My view on blog is different now. In fact I love blogging more than ever now.

I know commenting is very easy to do, and some of you might have better skills in this area than me. But the step by step below and tips that I got is based purely from my experience. You can either use them, or disagree on them, it’s up to you.

Step by step to find the right blog to comments

  1. Top commentator plug-in is a great place to start. But before you go to other blogs, see your own blog top commentator first. Those listed ideally are someone who have left a comment before. You also can try Comment Kahuna that I’d mentioned on my previous post, but frankly speaking, I highly recommend you to go for the top commentators first.
  2. From the top commentator plug-in, click on their names which should bring your to their blogs. On their stats, it will show that this visitor came from your blog. (Important: Don’t do this too often, otherwise you’re manipulating this plug-in and giving an impression to that blog that you’re supplying them with traffic. Remember, blog with honest!!!)
  3. When you first start to comment on a particular blog, do leave a few comments on their last couple of posts. Do not exit from their blog after leaving a single comment only. Trust me, they don’t care about you (so do I). They have lots of other people leaving only a single comment and they won’t come back to you due to your one comment.
  4. Do subscribe to their RSS content. For myself, I have 1 category called ‘blog that I comment‘ so that I’m aware of any recent posts made by this blogger. If they update their blog daily (like me), do visit their blog whenever they had any new post. Leave a comment until you had made maybe around 10 comments. See
    if they visit your blog
back and leave you comments. Do the same thing maybe within a week or so.
  5. If you get nothing from them, neither visits nor comments, it is time to pack your comment from this blog. They’re not the type of bloggers who like to socialize. Forget them, move on to the next blog. But, before that there are a few exceptions on famous blogs:
    • You comment on famous blogs, such as ProBlogger, it’s almost impossible for them to visit your blog and leave any comment back
    • You get decent traffic from them. Why not, comments won’t bring you anywhere, it’s the traffic that could generate income for you, right?
    • You enjoy reading their blogs and don’t care whether they visit and leave any comments back for you or not
  6. Repeat steps 1 - 5 on other blogger’s top commentators via the plug-in. Now you’re starting to build a relationship with them, looks easy, right?
  7. After a month of being a regular visitor, now you do have a relationship with them. Try to request link exchange from them. In my experience, if they consider you as their loyal reader, there is no reason to refuse your request. That’s why I asked you to first maintain the relationship within a month time.

Ok, now that you have built a relationship with them, how could you maintain your comments or make it even better in a way that when someone who reads your comment feels that you sound like an expert whose blog is worth to visit? Do wait for Part II for the commenting tips :D

i’m pissed off with keywordspy

I’m pissed off with keywordspy spy!! I thought this is a real deal. I used to get this kind of people contacting me offering this and that, but I normally don’t take it seriously. But when keyword spy who sounded like key web researching contacted me, I was thinking maybe I should try this. Furthermore they do have decent and quite good pagerank and alexa traffic. So I replied their email, put their URL on my blogroll, and waited impatiently to get FULL access to their website.

But, after a few days, nothing happened. I’m kinda disappointed, so I removed their URL from this blogroll and submit this post. Are you receiving this same email??

There are few words from me

  • if you’re contacting someone to do something as exchange of your offer, please reply it ASAP. In this case I’ve put your link in blogroll, and I received nothing. Are you hoping during this period Google will notice my link back to you and consider it as valid ‘VOTE’ to you??  If yes, you’re ‘clever’. Trying to get free back link free of charge.
  • Even if you’re outsourcing someone to contact each bloggers, make sure you have enough bandwidth to reply. If not, please STOP it. I’m off now!!

Read their nice request. Btw I feel that this post is most suitable to be under SPAM category
