Maybank, the largest bank in Malaysia has released financial Windows Live Agent called Agent-M, a new advertisement tool on Microsoft‘s messengers tool platform such as Windows Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.

Errm, how it works? Simple!! Sign in to your Windows Messeger, Add m.m2u@maybank.com.my to your contact and start chatting with ‘him’. Advertising in messenger (except putting a banner or text link on it’s window) is pretty new in Malaysia especially using this technology, in fact Maybank’s Agent-M is the first Windows Live agent in Asia to serve the financial sector

I’ve chatted with ‘him’ yesterday for a few seconds asking few questions using keyword such as mortgage or loan, but unfortunately ‘he’ is unable to answer the questions. nevermind he still new icon smile chatting with maybank2u , but he do know about ATM and credit card. And for more services questions, he’ll direct you to Maybank2u.com. My chat log is below if you interested how it works.

Google and DoubleClick

merge small Google and DoubleClick
DoubleClick? Have you heard of it? Few months back, I wrote about Google spending spree, where Doubleclick is one of many companies that bought by Google . Well, DoubleClick, Inc. is a leading online ad-serving and tracking firm which provides technology, and data products and services for advertising agencies, marketers, and Web publishers to plan, execute, and analyze marketing programs. Connection with Google? Though Google earns a whole lot more than Double Click by over 20 times of the profit, they are willing to pay $3.1 billion for DoubleClick, when the company could go for $2 billion.

What Google sees in DoubleClick is an opportunity, Google is focusing on search engines and DoubleClick has vibrant advertising business for banners, videos, and other so-called display ads often intended more to promote brands than to generate immediate sales. This would then help Google in the display advertising market.

Nope, not yet, Google has not yet closed the deal here, it has to get the clearance from both U.S. antitrust and European Union’s antitrust commissions. They’ve got a go from the U.S. regulators, but not yet from European Commission. The review deadline is on Apr 2, we’ll need to wait by then.

Any impact on us? I’m not sure on that.. but both companies seems to compliment each other, and the merging could create 1 huge entity that could dominate the internet advertisement. Google looks unstoppable, especially after getting the clearance from the US, but could this impact EU decision towards them?

As an Adsense publisher, I’m always looking for a better opportunity to earn more and more. So if this benefit most of us, why not let the deal roll on? But I believe, there are more important things behind this deal, which delay the merge process such as monopoly or data privacy issue, more than the money!!

Do you blog during holidays

2124818704 faf328f2b3 m Do you blog during holidays

Why not??

If you do, how would you choose the content? Is it something that’s relaxing, not too technical, tips, or maybe jokes? This question came to my mind when considering that there’ll be a lot of holidays in these coming weeks. For me, normally, when I’m on a holiday or vacation, I seldom open my notebook to read my RSS reader, but I do check my email in case if there’s any important issue.

So when a holiday ends, I’m struggling to read all the unread posts on my RSS reader, even on some of my favorite blogs. If you’re using Google reader, I’ll use the List View function to view the post titles only, so most of the time, I’m only reading the title that catches my attention.

If most people is like me, blog sphere would be slightly silent during this period, with less posts, less visitors and maybe less advertisement.

So if yes is the answer to the question above, are you going to leave your blog without any posts (again why not) during the holidays? If you’re a famous blogger, it shouldn’t be a problem to find guest bloggers to post any article based on any topic that you provide. Or you can set the post timestamp function, so your article will be automatically posted based on the timestamps, but of course you must have bunches of articles in advance.

How about if you’re a new blogger, or a part time blogger with not much ideas and articles and no one would like to be guest blogger, what would you do? Would you post anything as long as your day does not end without a post??

I have a few ideas that might sound familiar to some of you, but for now, I’d like to know what you think, or if you have something that is uncommon but beneficial.
