Maybank, the largest bank in Malaysia has released financial Windows Live Agent called Agent-M, a new advertisement tool on Microsoft’s messengers tool platform such as Windows Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.
Errm, how it works? Simple!! Sign in to your Windows Messeger, Add m.m2u@maybank.com.my to your contact and start chatting with ‘him’. Advertising in messenger (except putting a banner or text link on it’s window) is pretty new in Malaysia especially using this technology, in fact Maybank’s Agent-M is the first Windows Live agent in Asia to serve the financial sector
I’ve chatted with ‘him’ yesterday for a few seconds asking few questions using keyword such as mortgage or loan, but unfortunately ‘he’ is unable to answer the questions. nevermind he still new :), but he do know about ATM and credit card. It’s pretty funny to see that it can’t seem to answer your question precisely.
they cant even reply to an email properly, i dont think this will even work. I think it’s bases on an expert system but it looks like it’s not intelligent enough.
This is just their starting point. I believe that they will improve the system from time to time.
BTW, is this a beta stage?

Agree with you, as always, good idea without proper plan and implementation. Either Maybank or MS didn’t came out with proper system and plan
Erm, maybe Maybank should team up with Google to us Google Talk instead
maybe ..ha..ha..but if you cant even reply to emails properly (a rel human being) how would i trust a virtual reponder.
Seems like you were chatting with automated machine, that conversation looks like that only in the first 5 lines, have a look at it guys,
I don’t know why these agents are copying and pasting the questions, we couldn’t able to understand that what is all about. anyway zaki you managed that agent nicely.
Its interesting to note that about 10% or so of the m2u users are not from Malaysia!.Interestingly enough, they benchmarked the site against 25 other banks - they picked on UK, US and Australian banks…
