Pictures of Dell Direct Store

Finally, I manage to get the Dell so called Direct Store’s pictures from my friend. On my post earlier, I have mentioned about the opening of Dell’s Direct Store in Mid Valley Megamall shopping complex.
I’m not sure if this is part of Dell’s channel strategy, since the store itself bear the Dell logo as well as Intel. It could be the collaboration between Dell and Intel to showcase their product to the public. I doubt there are AMD’s powered notebooks/desktops displayed there.
Judging on the size of the store, it seems that the store is not that huge and does not showcasing full array of Dell’s product. I’m actually expecting something similar (or almost) to Mac Store nearby
If Dell is looking somewhere to build similar store, I believe Low Yat Plaza located at Kuala Lumpur’s so called Golden Triangle is the best. It is the largest IT center in Malaysia. I do visit there quite often, and I can see that there are large crowd looking for computer related items.
Good luck Dell!!

Is it Dell direct store or a Dell franchisee store. Looks like a franchisee
Perhaps Dell is trying to escape competition so that’s why they built the store far away from the Golden Triangle?
Norman - I’m not sure if this store is managed by Dell or part of Dell’s channel/vendor/ranchise
Edward - There is stiff competition over there, but not everyone is looking for custom/fancy/high end stuff. There are also consumers who’re looking for affordable/budget/modest perfomance system regardless the looks
They have a very sleek look - very comparable to the Apple Store!
I am so used to Dell sending me catalogs in the mail, I am not sure how a store would do. I never think of going to the mall to see what Dell has to offer - the first thing that comes to mind is checking the recycling bin for one of the 20 catalogs that are likely in there!
my friend and I went to dell at midvalley to buy a laptop and i thought they would accept cash payment but sadly they don’t accept cash even at their direct store.. thats make my friend end up buying compaq instead of dell.. pity him.. its is hard to get credit card because we are students..
sorry about that, but this is their policy. In fact they’re not accepting cash even from their employee
