Looks like Google is in free spending spree mood now. I came across this news that Google has acquired GrandCentral Communications, a Web phone service that lets users manage their existing phones and voice mailboxes over the Web as if they were a single account.
I have no idea or ever heard about GrandCentral Communication before. But I’m very sure this company has huge potential which Google can sense of
Well, I’m not going to talk about what GrandCentral Communication, but more of what Google is spending so far. This deal actually marks Google’s twelfth acquisition so far this year. Not bad for a deep pocket company like Google. We’re just pass the half year 2007 now, and Google I believe is eying several more potential companies to be acquired to support its exceptional growth and continuously widening their presence in internet and telecommunication worldwide
Since 2001, Google has acquired 44 companies including DoubleClick which haven’t yet finalized. Among the famous acquisition by Google includes YouTube, DoubleClick, Feedburner, Picase and Pyra Labs (blogger developer). By comparison, since 1986, Microsoft has acquired 78 companies
Why acquisition? With right planning along with the right companies, acquisition can shorten the product or service development life cycle for any incoming projects by fully utilizing technology or workforce from the company it acquired. This practice translated success and most importantly profit $$$ to both companies which was acquired and the acquiring company. However, an acquisition is not free from risk. There are many factors can influent the direction of acquisition as what stated by this document form UWSP and OCC which I found when I’m googling. 
Wednesday (July 4th) would be non busy day for me. You want to know why? That is holiday time. Not for me, but for my office HQ in US. They’re celebrating Independence Day. What that means to me? Since my job scope are focus mostly to US, on that day means, less task, less assignment and less meeting. But that doesn’t mean that I can relax in office. Btw, don’t let my boss know ok.
I would like to take opportunity to wish Independence Day and happy holiday to all Americans. Please drive carefully (do they have same behavior while driving likes us??) Malaysia, my lovely homeland, do have it’s own Independence Day which is celebrated on Aug 31st. The celebration this year is very special since its mark the 50th this country’s independence from British. Happy Independence Day to everyone!!

By now everyone who are tech/internet savvy, gadget geek must be aware of Apple latest product called iPhone, the latest craze from Apple. I’m not really into the gadget, but this iPhone is so special since its buzz has been everywhere since announced by Steve Jobs at Macworld 2007.
To know how popular iPhone was, I’m doing searching on keyword iPhone in google which returned 104 millions results, while yahoo returned 139 million results.
My curiosity to know why peoples were so attracted to iPhone other than it sleek design, bring me over to Apple iPhone official website. Yeah, there are a lot of pictures as well as videos. Other than must have menu such as user guide, features, accessories, there are also picture gallery showing thousands of people queuing outside main Apple store in US to be the first having this phone. Its amazing to see it, how this people willing to spend around $499 to something that they never try it, but Apple has reputation of came out with something that won’t disappointing their buyer and especially their fan.
After drooling around Apple website, I’m interested to know other website review about iPhone , so I went to several website such as Cnet and read their full review about iPhone, Engadget review, iPhone tagged news at Engadget and PCMag
If you’re planning to get iPhone now especially those living in outside US, please be patient. According to this source, it will only available in Europe later this year and in Asia in 2008. Looks like apple fan have to wait little bit more
